The real work of OWL Scotland is achieved by local groups across the country. OWL Scotland encourages formation of these groups through funding and other support.

OWL Scotland operates through local OWL groups which comprise teachers, countryside rangers, educators, NGOs and government organisations.

These groups are independent, locally managed and open to all.

Local OWL Groups work together to: Develop and run projects; Hold events and training; Share funding and resources; Share good practice; and Network

Constituted OWL groups are eligible for funding from OWL Scotland to undertake these activities.
